The National Museum of Iraq also referred to as the Iraq Museum is the largest Museum in Iraq and was officially founded in the year 1922. It was later moved to a two-storey building and contains some of the most precious relics from the Babylonian, Persian, and Mesopotamian civilization. This huge collection portrays the story of human civilization right from the earliest settlements to the fall and rise of huge empires. The artefacts of which some of them over 10,000 years old exhibit the development of everything right from hunting and writing tools to art, law, mathematics, religion, and much more. National Iraq Museum Reviews & Ratings
Such a great place to visit. I spent an ages reading about Mesopotamia and Sumerian. Today I was in this museum and shocked with content in it. Such great species from 100000 B.C collection presented in this place. It gives you such clear and rich content about the past with evidence from Iraq Mesopotamia, Red Sea and Iraq historical events. I do recommend this place for all to visit it’s worth it.
Amazing experience to go through on Baghdad, however there's little care of the place and halls, often you see visitors touching the antiques without any supervision, children yelling and carelessly running around the halls But the historical value is amazing and a must visit if you are in Baghdad Keep in mind that there are a lot of sections/halls, so it may take you more than one visit to fully experience the museum
Enjoyed every little thing about our great history I would love to go there again and visit it
Nothing spectacular and they’ll take and keep your smokes. Unfortunately Mesopotamia’s museum is not what it should be, but there was one friendly person from three people I encountered.
What a wonderful museum . The best museum I have been to for ages. Treasures of a mankind, all these Mesopotamian, Babylonian and Persian civilization ever read in the historical book only and now here I am, so personal and fascinating. truly helpfull to understand and learn from the past. Historically speaking, wow.... Amazing
