One of the largest and beautiful parks around the city, the Hart Park covers an area of 370 acres and has three canals and two lakes. This park dates back to 1921 and forms the oldest section of the Kern River County Park. The park is home to animals like possums, skunks, ducks, white egrets, blue herons, beavers, kit foxes and raccoons but the place is most popular for sheltering gorgeous peacocks.
Other than the wildlife, the place offers activities like fishing (the lakes are home to trout, bass and catfish), hiking, boating and swimming. The park also has an equestrian trail and a hiking trail. The picnic area with table and grills, is a favourite spot for spending a whole day with friends and family over a nice barbeque while the children’s playground keeps the kids happy. There are lawn areas for playing baseball and also a golf course with two 18-hole concourses. The bike path is perfect for a quick ride through the park while a walk around the park is just as relaxing!
With the best of both worlds- modern facilities and a lush green space to explore, a visit here is ideal to recharge your batteries after a long day of sightseeing.
