Freebird Express Port, Bali Reviews
We jumped in the last second before the boat started but I think it waited at Bangsal Harbour for 1.5h already. We paid 450k for 2 persons. The drive was as comfortable as possible on a speedboat. Comfortable seats, free water. Also, there were lifevests for everyone (!!!) and a fire extinguisher. Best speedboat company I traveled with in Indonesia.
Good speed boat company. Everything went well. From pickup at our hotel, checkin and the cruise. They have a good new boat wirh comfortable seats and you even get water on the way. After some reviews of other companies we were a bit concerned. But in the end we were positively surprised. Would book again with FreeBirds.
First things first: You should at least book 2-3 days in advance to have a chance to make it on the early boat. My only choice was 12.30pm for the next day. The trip: It was quick as promised. But sitting in front could cause sea sickness as they go full speed despite bigger waves. Timing: I was picked up at my hotel as discussed - but with a delay of an hour. Arriving at the port check-in went smooth and luggage was handled with care. BUT we were supposed to leave between 12.30 and 1 pm. We finally left the port at 3.15pm which means I was wasting more than 3 hours just with waiting for the pick-up and the boat leaving again after arriving from Gili T.
Beyond words. They sell pricey tickets to Gili and Lombok, but then you wait an hour at the pick up point and some more time at the harbor, because the boats don't leave at the scheduled time. And do not believe their estimation about length of the drive, you can double it. The ride itself was really really harsh, don't sit in the last row, you will get showered. When we eventually got off this boat, our luggage was SOAKED (they store it on the top deck). Not only a bit wet from outside, but completely drowned. Clothes, electronics, books, all dripping. They didn't even feel sorry for it...
Fast boat, friendly crew on it. Not so much the ones inland. Don't expect punctuality, they were an average of 1.5 hours late both times I used it.
