Located about 6 kilometers to the south of Ubud, Bali, Mas would be a fascinating place to visit, especially for art lovers. This small village is famous amongst visitors for woodcarving. The place is home to the popular Nyana & Tilem Gallery that exhibits finely carved artworks, showcasing skillful craftsmanship. Mas Village is the birthplace of the famous Mask Carver Ida Bagus Sutarja who lived until 2002. His wife and child, continue to create exceptional artwork in the I.B. Sutarja – Mask Carver- Gallery and are considered to be amongst the most respected artists.
