Melia Bali - The Garden Villas, Bali Reviews
Melia Bali is a lovely family resort. We have 3 kids so family room was perfect for us. 3 single beds in the room, with king bed on a mezzanine. There is toilet downstairs and bathroom upstairs. Rooms are older but very clean so no complains from us. Beautiful manicured gardens, lovely pool (it is shallow and water can get too hot), kids club looks lovely and kids club staff are amazing, but our kids weren't really interested in leaving our side (unfortunately). Everyone at the hotel was lovely. Not many food options for vegans so we mainly ate outside, but staff remembered that we have soy milk for breakfast and margarine, so it would always wait for us. We are on our day 6, and looking forward to the next 6 days... The only reason for giving 4 stars rather than 5 is lack of vegan food options and cost of food in hotel restaurants (breakfast is included and lovely)
Got a room on the ground floor with terrace access to a semi-private pool, actual room well sized with a bedroom and living room section. Bathroom clean and spacious enough. Hotel doctor came quickly when needed (watch out for water poisoning if you go on any day trips to waterfalls). Tide goes back a very long way during the day so enjoy it while it's in. Food and drink excellent, main hotel pools decent. Staff friendly, not all can speak great English but enough can. Overall would recommend this hotel.
Everything you would expect from a 5 star resort. I stayed 3 nights on a B&B basis. Buffet breakfast was amazing with so much choice, best time to visit between 6:30/7:30. All staff are super friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay perfect, something the UK hospitality industry could learn from! Thoroughly enjoyable stay after travelling for two months 😁
Rooms are old and shows many signs of wear and tear. The WiFi is crappy “at best” (so get a local SIM card) Two of the tree elevators have not been functioning for 4 days with no sign on them, room are dirty and smells funky when Turing on the shower. Incredible slow staff when trying to make an order by the pool. Food and beverages is way overpriced. To be fair there are some good things: Good food, very good breakfast. Nice pool area and very close to the beach and the activities for children is very good 👍, but it is no way near an 5 star resort. (3 star at best)
From the moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly, smiling, helpful staff. The rooms were clean and spacious and the king size bed, though a little harder than I'm used to, was very comfortable. The grounds, pools and gardens are all well maintained. No rubbish, no drunken behaviour. Everyone just totally relaxed. The food options are varied and delicious. We had the all inclusive package which meant you didnt have to worry about how much you were spending on drinks and food which helped in relaxing more. Cannot find fault with the staff or the resort. Will definitely be coming back. Was an amazing holiday.
