  • Nice drive leading up to Mount Agung. Definitely a high elevation so take your jacket because in the morning and evening it is chilly. Nice view from the parking area. Lots of vendors so be prepared to say no many, many times. It was active when we visited so that added to the excitement.

  • This place is from the heavens. I was there when it was erupting but you could still get close. It’s a beauty! The near by land is so beautiful and green with rice fields. The villagers are very nice and do speak some English. The temples around Agung are something to see! I would highly recommend visiting Mount Agung if you visit Bali!

  • Beautiful view of the Volcano and lake. Crisp, clean air with a picturesque setting. Definitely a location to see. Great place if your looking to take good photos. The volcano and lake make an excellent subject. There are some good restuarants where you can stop to have lunch with the Volcano as your backdrop. There's also a few good places to stop along the way up. Definitely travel by motor vehicle. Not sure if you're able to walk up to the viewing points.

  • View of the volcano is really spectacular. The mountain is located next to a lake. There are few open air restaurants opposite to the volcano. You can have great view of the volcano from the restaurants. There is nominal entry fee to the view point. Recently the volcano has erupted. Please inquire before planning to visit.

  • Very challenging walk from Besakih temple. We decided to do it in 2 legs to see both sunset and sunrise First - 4.5h climb to last base camp at about 2800m, pitched tent at sunset. Second - 45m climb to the summit at 5am, enjoyed the sunrise, beautiful scenery, views to Limbok/Rinjani, and all across Bali. One thing to note, the temperature drops to single digits, so proper camping gear required should you decide to camp on the mountain. P.S. I might have too many photos of Agung, but it's 100% worse it. The best thing I did on Bali.
