The food was excellent but there were two instances before and after eating that were very troubling and/or annoying. Many of the dishes were worthy of a Michelin star in my opinion (not as an expert but as someone who has eaten at a handful of those restaurants). However, a Michelin star restaurant dining experience is a comprehensive experience. As we were leaving the restaurant, the person working the front door had a taxi driver or someone else snooping at our phones to check if our driver who was coming was from a ride-sharing service like Grab. Individuals proceeded to scream at our driver after we got in the vehicle and drove away. Whatever the local regulations may be, the restaurant should not aid or abet anyone in this kind of harassment in any way. As we entered we were seated in a lounge and asked if we wanted to be seated in a smoking or a non-smoking lounge. We thought this was odd for two reasons - one that such a nice restaurant would even allow smoking inside and two because there did not appear to be a separate lounge, only two sides of a waist-high divider. After a couple of minutes, a gentleman walked towards the front door to have a cigarette outside. The person working there ushered him back in to sit down and smoke inside just on the other side of the “divider” from where we are sitting. I doubt many top restaurants allow smoking but none would do something as stupid as this. We asked if our table was ready because we did not wish to wait in an area where smoking was permitted. From this point on, until the later incident, the food was magnificent. I would still recommend dining here but I think they unfortunately have some work to do in other areas.
This place was a real treat to visit. We started off with a cocktail in their lounge and were then shown to our table. We visited Bali during rainy season, but we had a break in the rain for dinner and were able to sit outside. They do have a covered dining area. The menu is French with a slight local twist, using local fruits and vegetables when traditional French products can't be found. I think the menu is seasonal. The menu has 6 or 8 courses. Each course is a reasonable size, so you are not going to feel stuffed. From what I could overhear from the menu being explained to other tables, they can accommodate vegetarians and food allergies. I am not sure about vegan or dietary restrictions. Just ask the restaurant as they seem fairly open to substitutions. Don't miss visiting this restaurant. I would suggest reservations which can be made online, over the phone or in person. The restaurant accepts credit cards.
Great fine dining restaurant in Ubud. Beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, great food with local flavors and ingredients and good wine pairing. Really a great experience. Highly recommended
Service is so good. Every staffs are kind and professional trained. But taste of foods are different as well as what I respect for French. It is too much Indonesian style mixed French dishes.
Best restaurant in Indonesia.. Impeccable service...unforgettable moment...must have experience... two thumbs up!
