This is Balinese Hindu temple is famous among locals for its holy spring water. They bathe here to be ritually purified. Founded in 962AD in the time of the the Warmadewa Dynasty, the name of the temple comes from its water source, which is also the main source of the Pakerisan River. The temple doesn't just have pool for bathing, it also has showers. It is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. Like most such temples on the island, this one has and outer, middle, and an inner courtyard. People usually pray at the altar in the central courtyard before taking a bath. Make sure you dress respectfully. And if you're not a pilgrim or a devotee, it would not be a good idea to try and bathe yourself. At the very least you should somehow cancelled the temple management. There are souvenir shops in front of the temple and also food stalls. The temple building itself is rather elaborately decorated, and surrounded by lush vegetation. Ask the locals about the legends associated to this Temple.

Very nice area, walk around in the rural area before you enter the temple! It's way more authentic than closer to Ubud. Also, the temple and it's ceremonies are beautiful! Yet many tourists seem just to do the ceremony for fun, and only a few people come along and do the proper ceremony. Overall though lovely, and a really beautiful water source that inspired the ritual!
The energy in the pool is no joke, I felt it so strongly. Clean, clean, clean, just clean and pure! Highly recommend coming before 8 am or after 6 pm. Otherwise, the serenity will be disrupted by the crowd. If you can't do that, please make sure at least not to come here after 10 am, loads of group tourists raiding the place!
You come here for the experience. If you already have your own sarong, you get to go in the water to participate in their ritual. Visually everything else looks the same as all the other temples.
A spiritual experience here for me. I thanked my spirit guide for everything in my life and for the opportunity to help others. I felt so connected afterwards.
A beautiful temple with a really unique aspect - worshippers get into the water and pay their respects to a row of fountains. Although tourists are also allowed to get into the water, I feel like they take away from the spiritual element a little. Still, most are respectful and behave.
