This is Balinese Hindu temple is famous among locals for its holy spring water. They bathe here to be ritually purified. Founded in 962AD in the time of the the Warmadewa Dynasty, the name of the temple comes from its water source, which is also the main source of the Pakerisan River. The temple doesn't just have pool for bathing, it also has showers. It is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. Like most such temples on the island, this one has and outer, middle, and an inner courtyard. People usually pray at the altar in the central courtyard before taking a bath. Make sure you dress respectfully. And if you're not a pilgrim or a devotee, it would not be a good idea to try and bathe yourself. At the very least you should somehow cancelled the temple management. There are souvenir shops in front of the temple and also food stalls. The temple building itself is rather elaborately decorated, and surrounded by lush vegetation. Ask the locals about the legends associated to this Temple.

Tirta Empul is a Hindu Balinese water temple-- be respectful and either bring along or rent a sarong from the premises as you will not be allowed on site without one. You'll find individuals going through purification rituals going from one spout to the next-- not only for locals! Partake in this if you have the time.
This is a Balinese Hindu temple where people come to purify themselves as well as pay homage to ancestors. One can rent a sarong and join the Balinese people in taking a bath from each of the fountains. The water is amazingly clean and pure and spiritually refreshing.
A very beautiful and peaceful Hindu Balinese water temple. You'll see local people dipping and taking holy water, teachers teaching children in the temple. Amazing experience.
Great temple to visit in the Ubud area. Many come to wash and pray in the fountains. This is not a big location so don't schedule too much time to walk around and learn. If you're on a temple hunt, make sure to stop by this one over others in the area.
Beautiful place to find out more about the Balinese culture. You can also cool yourself and clean your soul (follow and wash under every fountain - from left to the right, to complete the procedure). You can borrow sarong to wear for free at the entrance, and sarong for swim for 10k.
