Art Gallery Ballarat, Ballarat Reviews
This is by far the best regional art gallery I have ever been too. Wonderfully set out, has a great selection of art and lots of different exhibits and themes. From classic to modern, sculptures to painting's and photos plus some Comic art. Was blown away with how amazing it was and the staff were excellent too. The best thing of all was it's free, I was so surprised that something so awesome could be free. Please make sure you make a donation though as this place deserves it. Definately recommended for all.
This is such a great place. The building itself is interesting, and the exhibits are worth taking a look at too.
This is my favourite regional gallery to visit on my rostered weekends off. There’s three reasons why. It’s really spacious and quiet on the second floor which gives me ample of time to just sit there and stare at John Perceval’s oil on canvas for hours on end, uninterrupted. There’s also always new paintings updated on the ground floor every time I visit which makes it feel like I’m visiting the first time, all over again. And thirdly, it’s hidden just right next door to a string of yummy cafes on Lydiard street and only minutes walk from Sturt. The train ride up here is also really quick and comfy 😊
Some fantastic work up. Interesting to see depictions of the early Austrailian settlers / invaders..
Outstanding display of Australian masters! Added bonus is that it is free. Attend several times a year and always find something new.
