Regent Cinemas Ballarat, Ballarat Reviews
Will always go here with the family to watch a movie. The other cinema in town feels very plain and cold compared to the regent which feels warm and welcoming. The rewards program is really good, the food is also good and has more variety. The relatively new family club card makes things a lot cheaper and efficient compared to having 1 card each for a family of 5. I find the seating more comfortable and the staff are generally very competent and friendly. The only let down is parking in the area which can be frustrating sometimes but not much anyone can really do about it. We just leave home a little earlier and walk to the cinema. Not really that big of an issue.
Beautiful cinema, great prices and awesome variety of candy bar food and drinks. Their variety of films is second to none. The hot chocolate is so good, it's got me travelling an hour just to drink it!
Very gorgeous cinema with a pretty good setup. Nice location, however parking options are terrible. The tickets are quite expensive, as are the snacks! (as at any cinema). I do like coming here, but wish it was cheaper and they had movies on at slightly more convenient times (aka. Not at 9.00pm)
The building is BEAUTIFUL! The Staff today were uninviting and have lost the ability to smile as they greet patrons or when serving in the main section and candy bar. The staff in Gold Class were lovely! All smiles and very helpful. Unfortunately, it isn't like this for all the staff on today. Especially the ones that most of the public see. Think of the amount of people that would come back more often if the 'dead fish' experience was lost. If the staff created a warm, inviting vibe to the place, patrons would want to come there. Not because the had to, but because of the way the staff had made them feel. Smiling and welcoming, and it wasn't just the movie that you left feeling disappointed about. Taking your money with a smile, and not rolling their eyes when pointed out that they had misheard the order, that you had said twice. If they had just smiled and said "no problem", sorting it without making you feel as if you were getting in the way of them thinking about being somewhere else other than at work during the school holidays. OR because I do care about workplace safety, (especially in a public place, you know, slips, trips & falls) when you point out that the floor in front of the candy bar is wet & slippery as someone had dropped their drink. Letting them know that it is a hazard and should be cleaned up (in case they were unaware), which was also met with a frustrating eye roll. Glad I didn't slip and I am sorry that I let you know. Unfortunately for my family & I today, it wasn't the movie or the staff in gold class that I left feeling disappointed about, it was the rest of the experience that we received here. Sadly this is the same experience that I have had here many times over at this establishment. I would love to see this disappointing experience turn around to create a more positive environment for all involved, patrons and staff alike. If only all the staff were as nice to interact with as the lovelies in Gold Class, the Regent would be SOLD OUT out all the time. Wouldn't that be sensational for such an iconic Ballarat business?
Regent cinemas is neat and clean, and a well placed cinema for the city of Ballarat. Right in the heart of the CBD on Lydiard street, this beautiful building is the perfect place for a date or a catch up with friends. Boasting a well stocked candy bar and very reasonable ticket prices I'd highly recommend this venue for movie watching. The gold class section is really good and the staff are always good to deal with. Usually a wide variety of session times which are very helpful
