Ballinskelligs, officially Baile an Sceilg (Irish for "Place (village) of the craggy rock"), is a Gaeltacht village in the south-west of the Iveragh peninsula (Uíbh Ráthach) in County Kerry, Ireland. The townland is in the Civil Parish of Prior and the Poor law union of Cahersiveen. The rock(s) referred to in the village's Irish name are the Skellig Islands—Skellig Michael and Little Skellig—an ancient monastic colony which lies off the coast from Ballinskellings. The town is also the site of a beach, the ruins of Ballinskelligs Priory of Augustinian Canons Regular, and the remains of Ballinskelligs Castle.
