Falls Park - Review

The Falls Parkis one of the first buildings to be built in the city. A gorgeous waterfall (the main falls) is a highlight of the park while the Queen Bee Mill, Observation tower, Seney Island located upstream at the main waterfall, the Horse barn that dates back to the 19th century(currently used for art exhibits) and the fabulous ‘Falls Overlook Cafe’, offer a relaxing time as you take in the beautiful view all around.

The ‘Phillips to the falls’ walking/driving route caters to hikers while the many permanent sculptures that adorn the whole space, add a lovely touch to the greenery. If you are in the city during winter season, do visit the park to experience its romantic charm when the gorgeous lights cover the whole place.

Falls Park Trips

Falls Park, Sioux Falls Reviews

  • Falls Park is an attractive open space in the center of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It is named for the large waterfalls flowing through the park. There are the ruins of an old flour mill and a gift shop with a viewing tower. It is a great location for exercising outdoors, meditating in nature, or making art. One should be careful. The falls are dramatic and I would be surprised if there were not regular injuries here. Pay close attention to any children.

  • Nice park. My wife and I stopped on a road trip out west. Park was an interesting mix of tourist spot and local hangout. It's worth checking out because it's free, but you don't need to spend a day there.

  • Beautiful, historic, and organic. It's like stepping back in time. The scenery is breathtaking and the history fascinating. A great place to spend an afternoon or evening and enjoy the nature. Bring a camera, a pair comfortable shoes, and simply relax. The Big Sioux River is robust and gorgeous.

  • Beautiful beautiful place! I could have stayed here for hours to just look around and admire mother nature in its finest. The sites and sounds were one of my favorite parts of our trip to South Dakota. Extremely well kept.

  • Very beautiful area to go and see. It is free and you could spend some time there reading historic information. The look-out tower was very neat and the gift shop is nice. We found cheap t-shirts at good prices. I would definitely recommend going here if you have the chance!
