Baltimore is one of the most important cities in the state of Maryland. Baltimore lies on the east coast of the country. In the earlier days, the city used to sit along one of the most important trade routes through the Atlantic. The city thrived as a port. Being only an hour’s drive away from the capital of the country also benefitted the city in terms of the number of tourists that flocked down here. The city has a lot to offer as it has the most interesting history. The city’s culture is rich and thriving. The whole city was built around the harbor. There are many such activities to enjoy, and places to visit in Baltimore that are based around the theme of the harbor.

1. The National Aquarium

The Dolphins have been trained to perform tricks and antics, all for your enjoyment. The aquarium houses a humongous shark tank as well as a walk-through rainforest.

2. Fort McHenry

This fort has played a huge role in various wars. This structure showcases the strength of the nation. This fort played a very important role in the War of 1812. After the victory in this war, this fort inspired “The Star-Spangled Banner”, which later on became the national anthem of the United States of America.
