Since Banff is a part of the Banff National Park, it’s a year round tourist place. Come sun, rain or snow, there’ll always be a sizeable attendance of visitors at Banff.
Summer and spring: The spring and summer is popular for hikes and sightseeing the park in its blossoming glory; the winter is a time to use the snow to your advantage and enjoy skiing like never before. This is the high season for tourists to enjoy all the outdoor activities.
Banff’s peak tourist season and best time to visit falls in its driest season- July and August. The crowds are at an all time high and so are the rates. The months that fall between the summer and winter are basically off-season and see fewer crowds, with a drop in the rates. Since the winter hasn’t quite set in, the temperatures are pleasant and cool enough. Winter again experiences an influx of crowds as the winter facilities open up for operations.
