About Bow Falls, Banff

One of the best things about the Bow River is its accessibility. A popular tourist attraction, the Bow Falls are one of the most loved natural attractions of the Banff National Park. Unlike the conventional waterfalls, the water doesn’t cascade from a great height; the Bow Falls are wide and short, powerful all the same! During the summer, if you’re positioned correctly, you’ll see the mist rise and might also be caught in the spray that comes along with it.

  • Amazing spot. Very busy, but still easily navigable with a 4 year old. Easy walk up the stairs to see the different falls. Also a great spot to dip your feet in the river.

  • The main plus of this attraction is that it is easily accessible within the town of Banff. It is a beautiful place with great views, not just of the falls, but of the surrounding river and mountain vistas as well. It has a pretty large parking lot. I did not find any washrooms though. There were people with boats on the shore plus it looks like some trails by the riverside so more time could definitely be spent in the area. Visited May 2016

  • The location. The colors of the water. The smell. All of it is amazing.

  • Incredible sight and easy to get around. Lots of benches and places to settle down to enjoy the view and cold breeze from the water. I went at 2pm in July and wasn't too crowded.

  • It is a ok place. Good to take some pictures but is not something that will surprise you.
