Vermilion Lakes - Review

If the east has Tunnel Mountain, the west of Banff has the Vermilion Lakes. Three rivers from the Bow Valley come together and form this spectacular body of water just outside of Banff. For any wildlife, photography enthusiast, the Vermilion Lakes is a perfect setting. The only possible downside here is that since it’s located along the highway, so it’s not as tranquil as you would imagine it to be. Nonetheless, it’s still the best place to spot some Canadian Rockies wildlife.

Vermilion Lakes, Banff Reviews

  • Relatively small and not very attractive compared to other lakes such as Lake Louie, Lake Moraine and Lake Minnewanka. If you simply just want a lake to bike around, this is the place.

  • Ate dinner on a bench and watched the sunset. Stunning. My picture does not give it justice.

  • Great lakes to go kayaking.

  • Another beautiful spot in gorgeous Alberta

  • A group of lake with barely any facility and so close to Banff and so easy to access you could forget to stop there whereas the panorama is just gorgeous and open on more than a few mountain. Also, compared to more touristic lakes, it becomes soothing even staying for a small hour just enjoying the great view.
