Overview of The Erawan Museum

One of the most unique museums in the entire world is the Erawan Museum, in Bang Muang Mai. The three storeyed colossal building is shaped as a three-headed elephant. The elephant is majestically and intricately designed with jewels and ornaments. Inside the 250-ton elephant is a temple and a museum. The below ground level is the museum that exhibits precious archaic Thai pottery and furniture. Some of these ancient religious items belong to LekViriyaphant, who is also responsible for building this museum.

Climbing up the elaborately designed staircase with ornate pillars, you’ll reach the stunning atrium. Wondrous statues of Buddha dating back to ancient eras like Lopburi, Ayutthaya, Lanna and Rattanakosin are displayed here. On the other side is a temple. Glowing with energy, yet giving you a blissful feeling, the temple will never seize to amaze you. Gaze up towards the sky, and the stained-glass ceiling will take you to the depths of the ocean, feeling blissful, all you can do is meditate here.
