Dedicated to Nandi Bull, the Bull Temple is also known as 'Dodda Basavana Gudi'. A colossal granite statue is the highlight of this temple. Situated inside a park called Bugle Rock, this is one of the more popular temples in all of Bengaluru. Said to be the biggest Nandi temple in the world, the stone cut image of Nandi is continually covered with new layers of butter, known as benne in the local language of Kannada.
This temple flaunts the Dravidian style architecture and is the site where the groundnut festivals take place in November/December. Combine your visit to the Bull Temple with a quick stroll through the Bugle Rock Park or Gandhi Bazaar. Heading towards Lalbagh after this isn’t a bad idea as well. The place is about 1 km away is the cave temple of Gavi Gangadeshwara Temple. Peaceful place in middle of the city. The bull is really magnificent. Had a great time when I visited with family. Near by metro is South end circle. This temple is also known as Bull Temple and road as bull temple road. Walkable distance from basvangudi.It has other temples as well and you will find a bull when you visit there.
Its a very well maintained temple. The whole atmosphere is just clean and very peaceful. Nice place to sit and relax. The adjoining Bull temple is the same as well....
Must visit temples and the most popular tourist place in Bangalore. One of the oldest temples in Bangalore. Has a huge Nandi (Bull) carved on monolithic rock. There's a temple of Ganesha(Dodda Ganapati) adjacent to it. A park with the name , Bugle rock park , near temple is a boon for those visit temple to enjoy greenery.
