MTR, Bengaluru Reviews
MTR. The name is enough to bring saliva pouring to the edge of your mouth. The tastiest vegetarian cuisine in Karnataka and one of the best in what they do. They have planning, organizational, skill and respect for the work they do. This has stopped being just a place to eat tasty food, and has evolved into something so much more. Its the feeling of bonding and the recreation of the culture of traditional Indian wedding dining that has been so tastily reproduced.
I thought that it was over rated, when I saw the interior and the crowd and the prices.. But boy was I wrong! It isn't over rated. It is absolutely amazing. The taste is what you have to go for! Edit: I visited it again with my family. It was disastrous. The taste was no where near good. Made me think if the previous one was a case of "hit or miss" scenario.
Very long waiting (we waited over an hour). Decent food taste but slightly overpriced as it is a regular South Indian menu in buffet style at the end of the day. Order of serving buffet not great. Service was OK - had to keep asking for refill multiple times but no one came. Was generally a bit chaotic. Cleanliness was OK. Ambience is simple. Do it if you must. But don't go too much out of your way. Not something I will repeat anytime soon. FYI there is a paid parking lot just opposite MTR.
Right on the busy road without anything attractive outside to attract customers this place is crowded all the time. After going inside there would be a waiting of at least 20 min or more depending on the time. But once you get the food you will realise the reason for so many thronging to this place. The food is at an other level. The service is quick and the coffee is the best way to finish the meal of a life time. Only downside is that once you eat the South Indian food here other places pale in comparison.
This is one of the oldest South Indian meal place in Bangalore. Serving authentic South Indian food. I have had the full meal. It was as good as it can be. Staff is very good and friendly and insist on trying all varieties (a lot of them) which might not be possible for some people like me with small appetite. Even though the building and furniture is old and no ambience as such, once you eat the food, you leave the place feeling satisfied. 😊 Must try if you are new in town or just visiting. 😊
