Sankey Tank - Review

This is a manmade lake in Bangalore, situated in the western part of the city in the middle of the suburbs of Malleshwaram, Vyalikaval and Sadashiva Nagar. This lake offers itself as a great scenic attraction of the city with an area of about 15 ha (37.1 acres). Constructed by Col. Richard Hieram Sankey of the Madras Sappers Regiment, in 1882, to meet the water supply demands of Bangalore, this area today looks picturesque and definitely deserves a visit.

  • Very well build place, with preserving nature also. It's a beautiful place to explore. Drinking water facility, park and playing instruments are also available for kids. Every age group people can come and enjoy exploring this place. Water is also pretty much clean and the authorities who monitor this place, they've build some small nets for ducks in this lake which is very beautiful.

  • A very beautiful place surrounded by lake, nice place to spend time with friends, amily and kids. For photography as well it's a nice place. It has one of the best sunset view in Bangalore. Eatables are not allowed in side the park which makes this place more clean.

  • Good for relaxed walking. Best place for jogging. There is small fitness park inside. Best for family and children. Beautiful pond with hundreds of pigeon. Better place to enjoy beautiful sunset and sunrise

  • Went on a lovely weather day. Not just the tank but the area around the place is so beautiful that for a moment you forget that you still are amidst the hustle bustle of bangalore. Especially loved the open gym. Lovely concept! The trail around the tank is super clean with ample benches. Do not miss the corn outside!
