Veena Stores, Bengaluru Reviews - Write a Review
Most dishes are in tiny (repeat order friendly) quantities served in a hardened leaf plate and cost 30₹ or lower. For that you get what's IMO the best samples of old Bangalorean cuisine. Be prepared to eat on the street next to a 2 dozen other patrons but that only adds to the place's charm. Everything is rice or wheat based though so no healthy non-starchy good available. Avoid this place if you're concerned about spiking your insulin levels. The coffee is adulterated with milk, sugar and chicory so stay away if you're looking for real coffee (and not the dessert South Indians claim is coffee).
It's held it's ground against some very good competitors for over 40years, there must be some reason. I could spot several. The quality of the food was one of course, but the hygiene at every step from cooking to serving is visible and superior to any I have seen. And the cheery interaction with customers has it's own charm too. Cons? Crowded.
Good place to have breakfast! Serves fingerlickingly awesome south Indian snacks.. Avoid if you don't like long queues and eating while standing on footpaths.
One of the best places to eat South Indian food. The Idli and chutney they serve is one of the best in India. The food is really worth the wait
This place is known to be legend in the field of restaurants in Bangalore. But now the old quality and quantity is no more. This place is usually crowded. People come here to have south indian snacks and breakfast. If you go Just by considering the name it has made in olden days, you may get disappointed.
