The Phanfa Water Gate in Bangkok is actually a canal that is linked to the Chao Phraya River. Locally known as the Khlong Saen Saep, the Phanfa Water Gate was built in the year 1840 and has been feeding water to the local districts. The right way for you to explore this busy, yet scenic lake is by taking one of the several water taxis that run on the canal which lets you travel the entire aquatic stretch. Travelling along the Water Gate, you will be able to see some of the iconic sights of the city’s skyline and also travel to the floating markets where you can get some shopping done too!
