An octagon-shaped fort, the Pom Phra Sumen is a marvellous 17th century monument. It was built to wade off any potential war, given the city’s proximity to several waterbodies. You cannot go inside it but you can admire the intricate Hindu-Buddhist design from outside. The fort features one of the fourteen watchtowers that guarded the old city at a point of time. Today with only two remaining, this fort features one. The region is very breezy and scenic in general, where you spend some refreshing evening hours. Another highlight of the attraction is the incredible sunset you get to see from here. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Bangkok itinerary 7 days.

* The facts given above are based on traveler data on TripHobo and might vary from the actual figures
  • Good place to take on the boat in the river. Bangkok is crowded with cars and traffics but during the rush hour in the boat there is no traffic jams. From here , number 13 port, to jam factory, number 3 port, only 15 baht is enough. Don’t be fooled in the commercial boat company at cost of 60 baht

  • Gorgeous place, with lovely surrounding area. The trees and grass prove to be a good place for a snack or just sitting down to admire the view. Wonderful place, highly recommend you visit.

  • It can only be seen from the outside (entry is closed). You can have a 360 degree view at least. It's a nice historical site (one of many forts), and significant in its position. It's a nice gesture that they have placed sign posts with a bit of the history of the fort to read in English.

  • Expensive , noisy and crowed. If you want to have a romantic dinner.. forget this place. Pizza and seafood were fine, and wine correct

  • It's a fort at the end of the touristy ferry route. You can't go up it or anything. The park around it is nice for a stop.
