Although seeing these Barges in action in the river is a rare occasion, if you do happen to go for a festival or parade you have to make it a point to see the ships traveling in fleets. But if you are not going during a festival or parade be sure to visit the Royal Barges Museum. In this Royal Barges Museum, visitors can see the ships as well as learn how the river was navigated by the royalty in 1700s. Even the Golden Swan Barge that the King built himself is displayed. Many of the barges were unfortunately destroyed in the World War 2 but it is still possible to see quite a few of them. It is a very interesting place for the history lover.
