The Wat Intharawihan is a Buddhist temple located in the Phra Nakhon district of Bangkok which is widely visited by followers and tourists. Built in the early 18th century, the temple has been standing tall long before the establishment of Bangkok itself. You can reach the Wat by boat, owing to its location close to the river, or by road as well. The chief attraction of Wat is the 32 feet tall statue of Buddha which is decorated with gold mosaic tiles. The main temple shrine itself is decorated in traditional elements of Thai Buddhism and displays murals and carvings that you can explore at length.
