Situated between the L'Anse and Baraga, along the US Route 41, the Bishop Baraga Shrine is a popular shrine that is made up of 60-feet tall copper figure that stands astride a silvery cloud, overlooking the Keweenaw Bay. This monument was erected to pay respects to Frederic Baraga, the Snowshoe Priest who was the first ever Bishop of the Upper Peninsula and the Apostle of the Great Lakes. One of the best places to visit in Baraga, this is a great photo-op while touring the town.
