A nice trip if you are in Barcelona port area. The queue was quite short when we arrived but still took 45 minutes to get to the elevator that takes you to the top for the cable car ride. Another 15 minutes before we got on it. The lift held 8 people only, but was comfortable (not cramped) and took 40 seconds to get to the top. At the top, there were some good views of the hills, city, and sea. A couple of vending machines available, only 1 working. The cable car held 18 people plus the conductor. Our cabin (#2) had a single seat. It was not over crowded and almost everyone managed to get some decent pictures out the windows. At the half way mark the car slowed as it crossed the 2nd tower, a little bumpy, then on towards the terminus. Total trip was less than 15 minutes but was very pleasant. At the top, you get some good views of the city and the sea. The cafe at the top sold beer, ice cream, and a selection of tapas. Further down was a sea food restaurant. Heading back down, the queue was shorter and we only had to wait 30 minutes, this time in the shade. Well worth a visit.
Very busy and not cheap. Very hot in elevator and cable car but still worth it. The views are amazing.
The queue moves in a good pace. The view to the sea and to the city is worth the wait. The restaurant at Montjüic end is a bit pricey but the terrace has amazing view over the city.
Its quite a wait till you get to the cable car. The views of the city are well worth it if you can wait. Umbrellas are provided and the have water cooled fans for people standing in the queue. The cable car takes you to mount montjuic. It does not take you to the castle of montjuic. For castle there is another fernicular railways cable car that takes you to the castle from the mount. You can buy one way ticket for this cable car and return via public transport bus if you prefer.
Views are amazing. Waiting time to enter to gondola approximately 30-40 min.
