Landscaped by architect Josep Fontseré for the world fair and spread over 70 acres, this green lung of Barcelona sits on a military citadel built by Philip V. The remainders of the exhibition like the building of Castell dels Tres Dragons, the restaurant, the lake and waterfall are still visible.

The plant house, the umbracle and the glass house are particularly notable and the stunning sculpture of "El desconsol" (Distress) is one of the finest specimens in the park.

Don’t miss out the mammoth and the bandstand on your visit. The park is ideal for picnics, bike rides and leisurely walks.

Attractions within the park include:

  • Zoo
  • Museum of Zoology
  • Museum of Geology

  • Boat hire for 30 minutes: 2 persons - 6 Euros; 3 persons - 9 Euros; 4/5 persons - 10 Euros

  • Trams T4 to Wellington or Ciutadella station, subway series L4 to tadella | Vila Olímpica, subway line L1- Arc de Triomf

  • An amazing open space that is suitable for everyone of the family. I have seen people jogging, walking, cycling and sitting down enjoying the fresh breeze. Some parents with their kids were having a group party with babies and kids. The park is fenced and looks quite safe even at night. One of the nice things there was it's proximity to several landmarks and public transportation.

  • It’s such a beautiful park!! There’s always a man blowing soap bubbles which just adds to the vibe. Definitely a good place to have a picnic or just chill out. Also a hot spot for taking dope pics. I’ll be visiting this more often!

  • Very cool Park, lots of green, which is a plus. Also when you get inside coming from Arc of Triomf, turn left and walk along the path and you'll reach the nice canal, where you can hire a small boat for 30 min (€6). It's nothing fancy, just a nice little ride, especially if you're a couple or just with a friend. Give it a go! 😉

  • The party was great. It had live music. Lots of benches and places to relax. There were cool orange trees too. And lots of people walking their dog.

  • Vast green space with a pond and the famous fountain. Great for people-watching since there are a lot of benches (even though I only watched the dogs so great for that too hahahha)
