Granja La Pallaresa - Review

The Granja La Pallaresa or La Pallaresa Xocolateria Xurreria is a casual chocolate and churro shop. It offers everything from muffins to ham sandwiches, coffee to hot chocolate, homemade pastries to Crema Catalana and of course, the famous Whipped Cream in great quantity. The hot Chocolate you will find here is rich in taste and dark coloured with a bitter taste –the sachet of sugar offered with a chocolate can be used if you like it sweet. The non-greasy and warm churros of Granja La Pallaresa are light and crunchy and not so salty to enjoy with the fluffy whipped cream. You can also try out Swiss Chocolate, Cottage Cheese with Honey, Merengada Milk, Ice Lemon Drink, Donut and many varieties of ice cream.

Granja La Pallaresa, Barcelona Reviews

  • Cheap and cheerful, delightfully local and seemingly not a place that changes every week. We had churros with a Catalan creme and (bitter) Spanish chocolate. Super tasty and were served quickly

  • This Sunday I woke up and did a small research which Granja I should try for breakfast. There 3-4 famous Granjas in tge area so I started reading reviews, comparing prices etc and I finally chose to visit La Pallaresa. I very pleased with my choice! We tried Spanish chocolate - it's tick and bitter, perfectly sticks to your churros and the French chocolate - the same but with milk, much more liquid.

  • Definitely worth a visit if you have taste buds for sweets. They serve fairly fast and very friendly.

  • I was told my locals this was the best churro place in the area. Went in to try some hot churros with some chocolate. Churros were good. Not a lot of sugar on the outside. The bowl of chocolate was very different than chocolate here in the US. It wasn’t that sweet at all. It almost tasted watery. Chocolate was not “milky” at all. Service was good and quick. It was also a good experience.

  • Would have preferred hot and fresh churros also the Spanish chocolate is very different to British chocolate almost not like chocolate dipping sauce unique flavor.
