  • Dear tourists, you've gone to 5 tapas place in your life and you think you know what 'authentic' is, my apologies for the sincerity: you don't. This place has been open since the mid 1940s, a business that has been open for 70 some years deserves more respect. If you want everyone with a smile on their faces at every moment maybe go to Starbucks. Not everyone is ready to kill themselves for your happiness at every moment. They're human, they have good days and bad days, this is a place where locals have been going for decades and you might not be as welcome as you'd desire, it's a complicated matter. When you see your city over run with very opinionated tourists (not travelers) that yearn to be pleased and don't understand what they actually are experiencing.

  • We went out looking for a "local" and La Bodegueta was literally under our apartment. It looked lively and popular and on entering down into the vaulted restaurant/bar had a great buzz about it. We went in just for a late drink but the food looked fantastic and we were soon ordering from the extensive tapas menu. It was delicious, the portions were large and all washed down with some excellent cava and chilled Rioja. The prices were reasonable and staff were friendly ...it was just what we were looking for.

  • Fantastic lunch. The dance of the waiters at the narrow bar as they serve is a living piece of art.

  • Typical nice Spanish bar. Foods are nice service is friendly, highly recommended. They are open on Sunday as well.

  • One of the best Tapas I've ever had... Try their house speciality cracked eggs on potatoes with herbs so delicious but for me the Gambas was the star of the show best prawns I've ever eaten Ever!!!
