This is a place to good if you want to have an authentic Spanish / Catalan tapas experience. The place is always packed, the clientele and the waiters are loud, there is always a buzz. Food quality is average, everything is very oily. But cheap. Do not expect any delicate manners either - your food is tossed on the table in a hurry. Still, my English friends enjoyed it.
Actually all food we ordered were great and delicious. Price is reasonable but amount is a few compared with other restaurants. There were a lot of people in Dinner time. But service was so bad. We asked for bill several times. But they said "Ok" and then we had to wait for taking bill almost 30min. Expect that, Everything was good.
This little gem which is well known by locals serves large portions of tapas for a fair price. Always pretty busy, with a good mix of Barcelonians and not too much tourists. The signature dish "Bombeta" is a large deep-fried spicy potato dish.
You should try Bombas. It's made of potatoes and looks familiar. BUT when you bite it, you see the universe!! It's salty and spicy, so don't expect spicy food as in Netherlands. It's much spicier. It seems always crowd, but if you're traveler alone or two parties, you'll not wait that long. One thing is that I don't recommend you to try fried squid. It's expensive compared to its price. It tastes good anyway. Staffs are really kind and good!!
great tapas! we really enjoyed the food here! calamari is superb. loved the spicy potato balls.
