About Palau De La Musica Catalana, Barcelona
This UNESCO heritage site is famous for being one of the most breath-taking concert halls that are built in the modernist style. Architect Lluis Domenech Montaner was responsible for the creation of this stunning concert hall.
Constructed in between 1905 and1908, this beautiful concert hall is one of the must-visit attractions of Barcelona. The structure is beautiful, the stained glass windows and the old timey skylights make it a very exotic looking entity. The dynamic curves and special design using organic motifs are what make it a very important structure in Barcelona. The rich architecture makes it a prestigious venue for concerts.
Take a guided tour of the place or catch a show, your experience will be memorable!

As a tourist in Barcelona, this is definitely a must. You have a wide range of music and dance acts to enjoy together with the beautiful modernistic architecture. If you are a local and you are 25 or younger, you can get very cheap tickets (between 3 and 7 Euros) at escena25.cat
Tours are about an hour and first take you through a video of the history and concept behind the Palau. Then the guide walks you through the main hall and other great parts of the Palau. Thoroughly enjoyed learning more about this place. And the decor is stunning! We even got a hear a quick play of Bach in all its magnificence on the Organ.
It's a beautiful, historical concert venue. Tour covers very well the history of the place, its meaning to the Catalan identity, architectural metaphors & inspirations woven through the place, and even a small musical performance. Highly recommend!
We visited for an evening concert (Masters of the Guitar, Pedro Javier Gonzalez), but did not get to take the tour. The beauty of the place absolutely lives up to it's reputation. The stained glass ceiling is inspirational and I barely scratched the surface on viewing and appreciating the mosaic details throughout the venue. The concert was excellent -- intimate with good acoustics -- a musical tour of Spain that we will carry with us longer than the photos. What a great night in Barcelona! One of the folks in our party has a disability and a wheel chair and the venue had very helpful staff, an elevator, and very good seats for him.
Here I got to see a flamenco show performed by a group that called themselves the best in Barcelona. I really liked the show and the acoustic was great, I sat in the center balcony on the 2nd floor. The building itself looks great on the outside and a lot better on the inside. The inside is the kind of place where you must take a picture, glamorous is the word for it.
