The Park Güell is a public park system composed of gardens and architectonic elements located on Carmel Hill, in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Carmel Hill belongs to the mountain range of Collserola – the Parc del Carmel is located on the northern face. Park Güell is located in La Salut, a neighborhood in the Gràcia district of Barcelona. With urbanization in mind, Eusebi Güell assigned the design of the park to Antoni Gaudí, a renowned architect and the face of Catalan modernism.
Summary: The most beautiful park we have ever walked through If you think Parc Guell is just a standard park with a few trees then think again. You will be amazed by what you see as this place is a masterpiece of both architecture and natural beauty. I joined my girlfriend when visiting here and we have to say it is definitely the best park we have ever stepped foot in. To get to Parc Guell’s entrance, it is a fairly tough hike to the top, so please bare this in mind. There are escalators along side the pavements however these cannot be guaranteed to be operational. There are some nice tourist style stores along the way with convenient fridges with drinks. The views throughout the park are unbelievable looking over the wonderful Barcelona. There are many interesting trees which you can hear the birds singing from. Nearer the end, there is a café on sight where you can purchase food and drinks. Only negative of this was the expensive prices here so you may want to pack a picnic. Gaudi has created some stunning spaces within the ground ranging from walls, to ceilings, to houses. This is definitely an experience we will never forget. The entrance price into the main area was only £7.50 each and it is of course worth the money to see the great sights and take many photos. Please be aware that there was still some building work ongoing when we visited so expect this if you are planning on visiting soon. Overall, Parc Guell was beautiful and an extremely worthwhile visit. Visit the park and I can assure you, you won’t be disappointed.
It doesn’t look like the pictures online !! So do not waste your money buying the full access tickets. Just go before 8:30 A.M. or after 7:30 P.M. for free entry to everywhere in the Park.
Incredible park complete with a lot of out of this world shapes and colors! Another masterpiece from Antoni Gaudi in the city of Barcelona. Huge park with unique designs, ‘dragon’ stair, Greek Theater, colorful tiles & mosaics, forest of columns and more. The details are incredible! Great place to stroll, walk around and take pictures. Usually packed with people. It’s just wonderful to be here 😘😘😘 . Don’t miss this landmark when you are In Barcelona. Take pictures with the gecko or the dragon, look up for mosaics in the Greek Theater and sit down on those beautiful benches!
Nice park, but boy wasn't it full people. Plus there is a lot of renovations going on horrible if you're planing to take pictures. Better to go explore outside the park.
