This is an ancient church located in the Ribera district of Barcelona. The Gothic style architecture makes this church an extremely impressive tourist site. This imposing church has huge columns and facades that inspire awe. The cutwork, stained-glass windows and the carved sky-lights are absolutely breathtaking. The beautiful sculptures also depict how the church was built.
The slender stone columns are famous around the world due to their unique design and they give the whole church a very gothic and striking appearance. The beautiful tall windows make it very well lit during the day. It is best to visit this church in the day as the architecture truly shines through then.

Wow an awesome place to visit.. Must see if you're in the city and has time. Everyone was welcomed and when I went in the choir was singing.. It was a beautiful experience.. Lot of tourists were there and so were people who came in to pray. Beautiful architecture and stained glass windows..I didn't have to buy a ticket to go inside the entrance was free.. But some say they were charged. Anyway the place was a marvel to see and I enjoyed every moment I was there
Much better than the proper cathedral in the barrio gótico. Worth reading up on its history, fascinating. Imposing but not as oppressive as most churches. The neighborhood is also very trendy.
What a stunning basilica. Another one that's difficult to appreciate just because it's surrounded by buildings on all sides. It's very mind boggling to think that this basilica was on the coast (hence its name), as now its quite far and no longer has a view on the sea. Worth entering and appreciating its size as well as its stain glass.
Not as famous as some of the other churches in Barcelona, but easily the most beautiful. The graceful open space with light filtering through the stained glass is nothing less than majestic. Free to enter during weekday mornings.
Beautiful and welcoming. It was very hot and many ladies showed up with skirts above knees, shoulders uncovered and casual beach sandals. Nobody was turned away. Beautiful ceiling, pillars, stained glass windows and lots of pews. The front of the church is cordoned off. A wedding was taking place.
