Travel to Batam:

By Air: Pulau Batam’s airport: The Hang Nadim International Airport (BTH) serves domestic flights from Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Pekanbaru, Jambi, Palembang, Pontianak, Yogyakarta and Bandung.

There are also few international flights from Singapore- Kuala Lumpur to Batam. 

By Boat: The main ports on Batam are Batam Centre, Sekupang, Waterfront City, Nongsapura and Telaga Punggur. There are frequent and regular ferry services from Singapore, Malaysia, Pulau Bintan, Sumatra and other Riau islands.

By Taxi: Plenty of taxis are available. Negotiate the prices before getting in. Ensure the meters are working.

By Minibus: Also called s Metro trans, they operate on fixed routes  between Jodoh and Telaga Punggur.

By Bus: The recently launched Bus pilot project is now available to get around the major parts of the city. Hotels and resorts also run their own shuttle buses for tourists.

By Car: The most expensive way to get around, hotels arrange the car and driver for the tourists. Self-drive is not available.
