Haynes International Motor Museum - Review

Though it’s about an hour’s drive from Bath, this is well worth the trip out of town. Over ten halls, this museum offers auto lovers a treasure trove of 400 cars and bikes. But that’s not all. Step out, and you’ll even see a small collection of military vehicles. Most of the collection focuses on classics and antiques (primarily British, Americana and Italian), but the last hall displays the best in vehicledom since the 1980’s.

There’s even a specialised area for children’s activities. The staff is enthusiastic about the collection which is only ever good for a museum and they are determined that you’re going to have a good time even if your no, as they call it, a petro-head.

Haynes International Motor Museum, Bath Reviews

  • Husband and boys loved looking at the cars. It was less expensive than some other car museums and the cafe had a good selection of food at reasonable prices. They have small push along cars for the little ones to move round the museum in, a brass rubbing trail and kids activity book which the whole family could help with. They have play areas for the little ones as well. A good day out.

  • A great place to see cars from all areas including racing. Around 400 cars on show all in immaculate condition. Expect to spend at least 2 hours enjoying the past five decades of motor cars. There is a good cafe where you can break off for something to eat and drink before continuing.

  • Great place to go even in not so good weather. Every where clean and tidy. Cafe has excellent food and good price. If you are a car person (or not) it's worth a look.

  • Fantastic selection of cars and motorbikes, and plenty for kids to do - my three-year-old loves it! The restaurant has a good selection of hot and cold food, too. A great day out.

  • Fantastic place! Impossible not to love it, even if you've been 'dragged' there by someone else. The variety of immaculate cars is amazing. I often visit the cafe on my way past: good food, reasonable prices.
