Though it’s about an hour’s drive from Bath, this is well worth the trip out of town. Over ten halls, this museum offers auto lovers a treasure trove of 400 cars and bikes. But that’s not all. Step out, and you’ll even see a small collection of military vehicles. Most of the collection focuses on classics and antiques (primarily British, Americana and Italian), but the last hall displays the best in vehicledom since the 1980’s.

There’s even a specialised area for children’s activities. The staff is enthusiastic about the collection which is only ever good for a museum and they are determined that you’re going to have a good time even if your no, as they call it, a petro-head.

  • A fabulous museum with fantastic amenities for kids. Extensive play area with mini diggers (£1), an array of installations (wooden structures with slides etc, the usual kids playground type stuff) and a mini soft play area (one word, amazing!). Good cafe and the cars and bikes on display are top quality from the last 100 odd years. Tickets are also valid for a year so once brought can be re-used in that period which represents great value for money. Will definitely be visiting again!

  • I really like it here. The staff are friendly. The collection of cars is amazing, and there is a big variety! The cafe is very clean and has good quality food, reasonably priced as well. I recommend this place to everyone.

  • Fantastic large collection of very interesting motor cars with some motorcycles. Detailed information about each exhibit. A super trip out. Be sure to purchase the annual ticket, it's the same cost as a single day. This museum is worth multiple visits to get the most out of it. Friendly helpful staff too.

  • This museum is full of historical cars. The displays are set out in an easy to follow order. The staff were pleasant and helpful. This is a place not to be missed, we will certainly be going again. The site also has a nice restaurant, we found our visit to be stress free and informative. Well done Haynes.

  • I attended a presentation meal here, I didn't actually visit the motor museum. The standard of the food was fairly good, as was the waitress service. My only criticism, was the bar facilities were far from adequate for the initial influx of people ( around 220 people ) A second, larger bar would have been a big improvement. I had to queue for around 30 minutes before I was served. Once the initial queue had gone, the bar staff did cope okay. Apart from this complaint, it was a very nice evening.
