About Andromeda Botanic Gardens, Bathsheba

The non-sandiest popular attraction of the island, the Andromeda Botanic Gardens paints a pretty picture. In fact, this huge botanic garden lines most of Bathsheba’s east coast. Spread over 6 acres, the initial initiation of the gardens started off as a personal hobby of the resident of the estate in 1954. It was opened to the public a few years after and since then there’s been no looking back. Most of the flora you’ll comeacross here is indigenous to the region.

Andromeda Botanic Gardens, Bathsheba Reviews

  • The garden isn't to big, but the walk still took us an hour, and we didn't hang around any spot for very long. There's a nice little gift shop, with some local art, and nature themed items. The cafeteria has something to snack on and serve a wicked rum punsch using a traditional recipe.

  • Such a lush and beautifully tranquil place to visit. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and give you a good background of the gardens origins on your arrival. Please visit it's well worth the money.

  • Excellent garden, well laid out, lots of good information ,nice cafe, helpful staff. If you are a UK NT member it's half price but worth every cent of the full entrance fee

  • Nice gardens. Very well laid out. But quite hilly and had the feel of being a little run down.

  • Beautiful outdoor botanical garden. There are a series of stone paths that wind through the garden which allow viewing of the plants. Proper footwear should be worn to prevent slipping on mossy stones. Also be ready for high heat and humidity as there is little airflow once you''re in the garden. Wheelchair users will have issues with the many ups, downs and tight turns. Good place for those that are studying horticulture.
