Galatoires is a really terrific restaurant. Their food is of an exceptional quality and they have an extensive menu. The interior and the decor are superb, providing a very nice view outside. Their service is good, thanks to their patient and polite staff. It's a little noisy in the restaurant but that contributes to the lively atmosphere. They have a really fine collection of drinks which go hand in hand with the food. This is one of the top restaurants in Baton Rouge.

A great place to eat lunch. The Creole Red Beans and Rice w/chicken was awesome. Gregg was a fantastic waiter!!
Had a very enjoyable time. The food was very good, but the portion s (catch of the day/ crabmeat) were smaller than my last visit. Bread pudding was also good, but not truly great. A very nice atmosphere and excellent service.
I only came for the bread pudding and I have to say it's delicious! I came to Louisiana for a convention and couldn't leave without bread pudding. It was simple yet amazing. Not too mushy (try it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top)
My wife and I have been going to Galatoire's Bistro for quite a while. Almost all of the dishes have been delicious, with (literally) few that have missed the mark. Friday night was part of Restaurant Week. We ordered from the fixed price, three course menu. Overall, I'm glad we went. The wait staff was attentive. The first and second courses that I chose [the Spinach and Shrimp Flatbread and the Gulf Fish (Red Fish in this case) en Papillote, respectively] were to die for. The third course (Basil Chocolate Mousse, which was actually a bread product with what appeared to be chocolate syrup) was, IMO, only so so. I would enthusiastically order the first two courses again. I've made a mental note not to even think of ordering the Basil Chocolate, ahem, Mousse again. With few (and far between) exceptions, the food at Galatoire's Bistro have been delicious.
The service was excellent. Our waiter was wonderful. He had outstanding customer service, and was knowledgeable about what they served. The food was cold. We ordered the Duck. It tasted great, though it did suffer from the seasoning issue that most restaurants suffer from. Chefs, salt is your friend. Use it! All in all, the food tasted good, but you definitely won't be eating here often because the prices aren't exactly low. So, to recap: Price - relatively expensive, especially for portion size. Food - tasted great but was cold. Just my experience. Could also be seasoned a little more. Service - excellent, the chef came out and apologized about the food being cold.
