Monument to the Victory of Chacabuco is a stone monument that commemorates the Battle of Chacabuco, the first battle of the liberating army of Los Andes, that took place on 12 Feb 1817. The structure is 20 meters tall. There is a Spanish inscription on the stone that states that the Battle of Chacabuco led to the independence of Chile defeating the royal battalions under the command of Brigadier Rafael Maroto. The structure is of a man holding a sword of the design similar to the sword of O’Higgins. The structure provides some awesome photographic angles.
