This was the last independent and family managed mustard producing mill of the city that is now transformed into a museum. It is a bit hidden in an inner courtyard and thus a little difficult to be found. This mill is known to have produced mustard and condiments in traditional techniques using stone grinders to get the perfect essence of the aromatic seeds. This used to be the main ingredient of many recipes passed on by the earlier generations.

The main attractions in here are:

  • The history of the production process with a nice display of the ancient machines.
  • A very good light and sound display telling you about how work used to be done at that time.

  • EUR 8 for children.
  • EUR 19- 240 for Special groups.

  • 21 Boulevard

  • Great for kids and adults. Had a private tour where we actually made mustard (was even eatable :o) in addition to learning everything about mustard. Highly recommend the mustard tasting in the shop.

  • Wonderful, wonderful experience during our tour. Would definitely recommend doing this instead of just visiting the shop. While the tour had French and English, we were the only group that was English so a bit more time was spent on the tour for French and we feel like we may have missed a little bit in translation but overall we still learned a lot. The tour took a bit under two hours and started with some background on the mustard making history and process and then you get to see the machines they use to process it. From there we got to try making mustard which was fun to do. To end we got to try a bunch of mini bites to try with different kinds of wine. They even gave us two small jars to take home at the end of the tour.

  • It was very interesting to see (and smell) the manufacturing process of the mustard. After visiting the Moutarderie, the Fallot shop offers you all mustard flavours you can imagine.

  • Fun an interesting multilingual tour. You get to taste and mix mustards. Well worth a visit. Recommended!
