Beihai Park - Review

Beihai Park is an extremely popular attraction among the local people of Beijing and tourists also. It is an ideal place to go to escape from the blazing summer heat. You can paddle around in a bizarre assortment of boats. There are odd, duck-shaped paddle boats, and two types of motor boats.

In the winter, the lake freezes over and Beihai turns into a huge skating rink. Within Beihai is also the famous Fangshan Restaurant, where you can eat Qing Dynasty type food. This is quite a famous spot for the travelers in Beijing and a photographic session in the garden would be a fantastic idea. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Beijing itinerary 2 days.

Beihai Park, Beijing Reviews

  • This is the park that has the white dragon pagoda. A pagoda is simply a tower that has an ancient relic within it. Going up to the pagoda is a great place to start but what really takes your breath away is the lake! There is a huge lake with lily pads and they have boats that take you all around the lake. It was so peaceful and serene.

  • Beautiful park! I walked around the whole lake which took 5 hours but it was worth it! I'm so glad we got a hotel by the lake because this place was gorgeous! I even went on an electrical boat that you drive yourself which was very fun!

  • As far as parks go this is OK. It's crowded most of the time and the boats and such like are past their prime. The whole place needs a lick of paint and a tidy up to be rated higher. Food and drink options limited and expensive. Don't bother paying extra to see the White Pagoda, you can see it fine by not paying anyway. Better for families than younger couples or older people. Plenty of better parks in the world, don't make a special journey to visit this one.

  • Quintessential Beijing. Gorgeous mix of ancient and modern. Peaceful, yet crowded. Exactly what you would expect.

  • Wonderful park and lake complex next to the forbidden city. Boats for hire. Lots of sights.
