Nestled in Portugal, the castle of Beja belonged to the city of Alentejo. Today, only remnants of the castle exist on the top of a hill. With beautiful landscape acting like a blanket, the walls of this fort like structure are a beautiful sight to watch. Castle Of Beja Reviews & Ratings
ongoing restoration work sympathetically done, an excellent place to visit. free admission. castle in good order spirsl stone staircase to upper floors in keep. wear sensible shoes....
Nice views of the city. It's a good place to have a quick break and relive some memories of a different era. The castle is in good conditions.
Quite an impressive castle that is completely open to explore and climb the walls. I believe the main tower closes at certain times but we managed to arrive and quickly climb to the top for breathtaking views of the town and surrounding area. Few info cards around the place detailing the history of the castle both in Portuguese and in English, not too much information but a good glimpse into it's history. Well worth a visit if you are driving through the area.
Worth a stop if you're passing through, they let tourists climb to the top of the tower which has great views of the surrounding countryside.
Very nice place a town within a castle. Free entry and views are great..a lot better than the paid castles of Portugal
