  • It is just a great way to relax, let someone else do the driving, and take in the beautiful scenery. The sounds of the train, from the wheels to the steam, and the laughter and happy voices floating down through the trains open windows... I love it. I haven't been on the train in summer, but it is on my to do list. Grab a few friends and family and have a lovely day out.

  • Visited Puffing Billy in Belgrave this afternoon for a lovely high tea with a friend. We we're made to feel very welcome from the get go. Our hostess Amanda was an angel, she was welcoming, enthusiastic and helpful! The high by Mary Eats Cake was delicious. I would recommend the high tea to anyone looking for a good time with food!

  • Cute, fun, mainly run by volunteers who were amazing. The train and carriages have been restored and they give you a real experience on what it must of been like back in the age of steam. Sit on the right hand side of the carriage because about five minutes out you go over a bridge and you'll get some great photos of the engine as it curls around ahead of you.

  • The puffing Billy is a 10 strong team of steam locomotives and a few diesels. But the steam locomotives are beautiful old girls and full of character. Far from the speed and technology that trains have today but so much more interesting. The experience on the puffing Billy is so raw. The day we went on was in the middle of winter and it was pouring with rain and about 3 degree's outside so with the open air carriages was absolutely freezing but still loved it. The work put in by the volunteers is great and the way they have kept everything as original as possible even in the operations etc is great. Keep up the good work guys. I am looking forward to telling my niece and nephew I went on a real life Thomas the tank engine today👍

  • Free parking at belgrave station. Caught the 2.30pm train to lakeside. My trip was rushed as we ended up spending a lot of time at the lakeside model railway. I would say catch a earlier train that would allow you to see everything. Overall it was a beautiful enjoyable day. Very friendly staff and the train ride was amazing with beautiful scenery.
