Great Mayan Archaeological site to check out. Many structures and plazas to see with the main Castillo towering over them. You can climb to the top of the Castillo and get a great view of the site and surrounding area. Get a good tour guide if you want to learn about the site and the Mayans occupation of the area. It is an active Archaeological site as well so you may get to see excavations taking place.
One of the best ruins I have seen. Stick around and you may see a monkey in the trees. Very beautiful structures and the art on the ruins is beautiful compared to some of the ruins without intricate carvings. 5$ US was definitely worth visit. Not as touristy and no food vendors:)
The history here is amazing. Our guide Virgil from Blancaneaux resort is Mayan and provided a compelling insightful commentary throughout the tour. It is also one of the only Mayan cities where they found the hoop from the deadly ball game the Mayans played. Smaller than other Mayan sites but equally interesting as them.
Amazing. Medium difficulty to get to the top for the average physically capable traveler. Lots of handrails. I did it with a hurt ankle and being a bit out of shape so I am sure you can too. Just go slow. Might be a little difficult for those afraid of heights. They had good security around there since it was close to the border.
Beautiful location filled with something new to see each time you look at a different detail. 10/10 would recommend.
