The provincial park of Sir Alexander Mackenzie enshrines the farthest west point reached by Alexander Mackenzie in 1973 and the rock he marked to commemorate his journey. You need to take a boat to reach here or a float plane can also be an option if the sea is calm. The prominent 40feet cairn stands above the rock. An informational plaque erected by the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada is also note-worthy inside the park. The cairn marks the location of the First Nations Village. Orcas, Pacific White-sided Dolphins, Harbour Seals and other marine mammals can be encountered along the shore. There are Columbia black-tailed deer, mink, black bear and wolves around the beach.
