San Rocco Church was constructed between 1530 and 1561 as a votive offering for relief from a plague that had infested the city. The major attractions of this church are the Coat of arms of Rector Giacomo Salomon, carved on the column and of Pietro Loredan under the statue of the facade. The church was administered by the Cappuccini monks from 1605 to 1769 with a convent at the rear but was later converted to an orphanage and finally was transformed into “Centro Giovanni XXIII” in 1959. The exterior of the church still preserves the two frescos dating back to 1564.
