The Newmans Castle in the Bellville countryside was a dream made real by Mike Newman in 1998 and it is a great example how one can chase his/her dreams to be the king/queen in one’s own castle. Newmans Castle is not a historic castle however its custom creation is truly a one of a kind with its moat which some say is infested by alligators, a drawbridge with portcullis, five round cornered turrets, a chapel, a courtyard and a towering perimeter surrounding the central keep. There are castle tours on six days a week that commence from 10.30 am. The Castle Bakery is another attraction for its freshly brewed coffee, homemade pastry, quiche, croissants, donuts and cinnamon buns.
