An important part of all the heritage sites in Bendigo, the Sacred Heart Cathedral is considered to be the second tallest church in Australia after St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Melbourne. It is also one of the largest churches in the country. Located in the heart of Bendigo, the Sacred Heart Cathedral serves the Roman Catholic community of the city. Both the exterior and interior of the church are known for their marvelous and intricate design, one of the main features being its main spire with an 87-meter height. A large pipe organ was also added to the church in 1905 while its architecture shows the Gothic Revival style.
