Before being a popular tourist spot, Benidorm was a humble fishing village. Its coastline is witness to a  rich maritime history  and today you can see a glimpse of it at the Centro Cultural Maritimo.

The centre has a fine collection of nautical items including fishing boats, knots, nets, anchors, photos of historic fishing equipment, maps, lobster pots, fossils and scaled miniature models of the ships that were iconic to exploration and the fishing work carried out by the locals in the Mediterranean sea. The place also a collection of articles that explain important events in the maritime history of the city. If you love ships and history in general, you will love the museum for its small but informative exhibits.
