The Charlottenburg Schloss is one of the most stunning buildings in the historic city of Berlin. It is one of its kind and symbolizes the old imperial rule. The classic dome, off-white, understated colour and the wing design make it a very important landmark in the history of Berlin. Once you are here, do not miss out on the beautiful garden as it is one of the prettiest gardens in the whole of Berlin. The equestrian statue of Frederich Wilhem I in the courtyard is also an important site that is impossible to miss. There is also a quaint little belvedere or tea-house. The interiors are extremely intricate and breath-taking. Many of the salons and chambers are open for viewing the baroque style decoration of the place. Parts of the building were destroyed in the wars and re-built. It is interesting that the renovation is almost seamless. As the sole symbol of the old monarchy, this palace is a delight for the history lover. It is the most important part of these Berlin itineray 2 days and 3 days in Berlin itinerary.

Great spot for a Christmas market. Loved the way all the stands were put up. Plenty of choices for merchandise and food. Prices are comparable to the rest of Berlin. The overall feel is great, especially as you have the Palace as a backdrop. Would definitely return here next year.
Enjoyed touring through the palace. Extremely interesting and very well maintained. Learned a great deal about the royal family and how Potsdam was the center of the Prussian empire. I was not aware of the historical significance of Potsdam. Truly a learning experience.
A historical gem amongst the modern buildings of the rest of the city. Good value for money too. Going in I was worried that my limited knowledge of the German royal family might hamper my experience, but this wasn't an issue thanks to interesting and informative audio tour. I returned in the evening for the Christmas market. It ended up being my favourite Christmas market of my trip to Berlin.
It is a treat to your eyes. The palace is filled with magnificent paintings and artistry features in addition to the vast collection of ancient cutlery and furniture. There is also a wonderful garden to stroll around and spend your evenings. This was the very first tourist spot I visited after I arrived in Berlin(since I stayed in Charlottenburg area). There is an audio guide available to tour around the palace.
Never entered the building itself but the park around it is worth a visit either way. In the Advent time, the Christmas market is an absolute highlight. Typical snacks and drinks, few artisan or creative products. Behind the building, a massive garden, up to and along the river Spree. Well designed, beautifully maintained, perfect for a stroll during most of the year.
